International Graduate Student Conference
This conference aims to provide a platform for graduate students to present and discuss their research in English Studies, focusing on the role of discourse in language, literature, and cultural representation. Objectives include fostering interdisciplinary conversations, bringing together students and scholars from various English Studies disciplines, and encouraging critical analyses of language impact on societal norms, values, and cultural narratives. To actively encourage student participation and engagement, the conference is offered free of charge.
Contributions are invited that align with but are not limited to the following thematic areas: linguistics (pragmatics, discourse analysis, media linguistics), literary studies (narratives and discourse in literature, postcolonial discourse, critical theory and discourse), cultural studies (discourse and culture, discourse and identity, representation in popular culture), cross-disciplinary approaches (intersections of language, literature, and culture; multimodal discourse analysis).

Call for papers
We encourage graduate students to contribute to the diverse dialogue in English Studies. Submissions that explore innovative intersections of language, literature, and culture, as well as those addressing emerging areas like digital discourse and society, are particularly welcome. The conference welcomes contributions across a spectrum of thematic areas within English Studies, encompassing but not limited to the following:
✔️ Linguistics: sociolinguistics, discourse analysis, pragmatics, media discourse analysis.
✔️Literary studies: narratives and discourse in literature, postcolonial discourse, critical theory and discourse.
✔️Cultural studies: discourse and culture, discourse and identity, representation in popular culture.
✔️Cross-disciplinary approaches: intersections of language, literature, and culture, multimodal discourse analysis, digital discourse and society.
✔️Environmental discourse: globalisation and discourse, discursive psychology, discourse and technology.

Conference formats
✔️ Hybrid Option
Recognising the diverse needs of our participants, we provide a hybrid option, allowing international conference participants to deliver their presentations online. This flexibility enables attendees to tailor their conference experience based on their preferences and circumstances.
✅ On-site Format
Attendees opting for the on-site format will have the opportunity to physically participate in the conference at the Faculty of Philology, Vilnius University. This format offers a traditional conference experience with in-person interactions, networking opportunities, and the chance to engage in face-to-face discussions with fellow participants and speakers.
? Online Format
For those unable to attend in person, we offer a comprehensive online format. This virtual option allows participants to join the conference remotely from the comfort of their homes or workplaces. Online attendees will have access to live-streamed sessions and interactive Q&A sessions. All presentations and materials will be accessible through our secure online platform, ensuring an inclusive conference experience for remote participants.
